In this role I handled public situations such as traffic crashes, sudden deaths, death notifications, public disorder incidents, serious assaults, burglaries, robberies, self-harm incidents, and domestic violent incidents.Conducted multiple Land Search and Rescue Operations for high risk missing persons including but not limited to suicidal persons and persons with the dementia within the Perth metropolitan area as an incident controller and assisting officer.Conducted regular vehicle and foot patrols of identified areas in relation to crime trends within the metropolitan area. Maintained a public order response tactics capability to respond to all manner of civil disorder to include large scale protests, out of control gatherings and serious prison riots. Participated in public order response tasks to include large scale protests, out of control gatherings and serious prison riots including Acacia prison riot in 2022. In this role I voluntarily qualified as public order response tactics training instructor to contribute to the maintenance of the capability within the division. Facilitated safety briefings and de-briefings surrounding numerous training scenarios involving multiple persons and dangerous policing-based scenarios including the use of incendiary devices and confined spaces. Adhered to safe practices to facilitate effective training to all involved. Qualified as FIST Police training suit user. Utilising the Police training suit to add realism and added dynamic to realistic training scenarios while maintaining safety of all participants. Along with my colleagues, I have maintained an initial active armed offender response capability.

In this role I qualified as a Regional Negotiator to ensure timely and effective response to incidents including but not limited to high-risk hostage situations, serious incidents involving offenders and despondent persons at risk. Provide an initial negotiation response capability to resolve serious incidents or to ensure ongoing safety of involved persons prior to deployment of Tactical Response Group negotiators within remote Western Australia. I regularly engaged with members of the Indigenous population within Carnarvon sub-district, liaising with cultural elders to prevent crime specifically instances of Family Violence and serious civil disorder. I engaged off duty in Police Community and Youth Centre activities to interact and strengthen relationships with Indigenous youth within Carnarvon. I took operational responsibility for operational orders relating to large scale events within Carnarvon sub-district including funerals.I was required to conduct and assist with multiple Land Search and Rescue Operations for high risk missing persons including but not limited to suicidal persons and persons with the dementia within the Carnarvon sub-district.I managed and coordinated deployment of all available and relevant police resources such as the local police and support organisational units such as the Emergency Operations Unit.I was required to liaise and coordinate with external agencies including State Emergency Service, DFES, and St. John’s Ambulance.I handled public situations such as traffic crashes, sudden deaths, death notifications, public disorder incidents, serious assaults, burglaries, robberies, self-harm incidents, and domestic violent incidents while also attending to front counter complaints and carrying out regular custodial care of high-risk persons in custody in a remote setting. As Operations Manager within the Canine Section, my role included liaising with internal and external stakeholders to achieve operational objectives. I liaised with multiple organisational units within the WA Police including but not limited to the Organised Crime Squad and local Detective Offices. Additionally I liaised with external agencies such as the Australian Federal Police to provide a working canine capability to assist in operational objectives. I was required to manage and maintain organisation of multiple individual canine handlers, rostering and operational requirements to ensure appropriate deployment of Canine Section resources.

In this role, I provided support to the Frontline Police in all aspects of operations and responded to public matters such as traffic crashes, sudden deaths, death notifications, public disorder incidents, serious assaults, burglaries, robberies, self-harm incidents, and domestic violent incidents. It was my duty to support all organisational units within the WA Police in general purpose canine response to track and apprehend violent offenders connected to serious offences and civil disorder incidents. Furthermore, I maintained canine health and physical fitness at residential address and conduct canine training on a regular basis. I participated in regular safety briefings surrounding numerous training scenarios involving multiple persons and dangerous Police working canines.

In this function, I provided a WA Police presence during Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) runs and events in Western Australia including the regional areas and aided the Gang Crime Squad detectives by performing unannounced entries to execute search and warrants aiming OMCG members, nominees, and associates. To ensure full and safe preparation of unannounced entries, I conducted thorough assessments of addresses and occupants after which I performed investigations into the sale and supply of illicit drugs relating to OMCGs. I searched for OMCG-connected persons, vehicles, and addresses for illicit drugs, weapons, and other items of interest on a regular basis and developed intelligence databases on known OMCGs including information gathered from members, nominee and/or associates, club information located and specific insignia relevant to rank and membership. I also patrolled known OMCG locations including licenced premises and clubhouses and responded to any possible incident involving OMCG members, nominees, and/or associates where urgent assistance is required. I obtained and maintained Negative Vetting Level 1 National Security Clearance.

In 2010 I completed the Land Search and Rescue Coordinator course and conducted as incident controller, multiple successful large-scale Land Search and Rescue Operations for high risk missing persons including but not limited to suicidal persons, persons with serious medical conditions and persons with dementia within the Perth metropolitan area. In this role, I coordinated the management and deployment of multiple organisational units including the Regional Operations Group, Mounted Section and Emergency Operations Unit. In addition to this, I coordinated with external agencies including the State Emergency Service, Department of Fire and Emergency Services and St John’s Ambulance.In 2012 I completed an 8-month placement at the Central Metropolitan District Crime Team focused on investigating burglary, motor vehicle theft and drug related offences. As part of my role in this unit as an investigator I executed search warrants under various legislative authorities including but not limited to the Criminal Investigation Act 2006 and the Misuse of Drugs Act 1981 resulting in the successful apprehension of offenders. I also provided an investigative response to serious incidents occurring within the Central Metropolitan District.

My role as a Patrol and Inquiries Officer carrying out Breath and Drug Operations required me to spend most of my hours on duty on the road. I was involved in regular high visibility operations targeting alcohol and drug affected drivers in the Perth Metropolitan Area and set up vehicle check points in assigned locations. I also conducted roadside breath and oral fluid testing, detected and responded to offences under various legislative authorities including but not limited to the Road Traffic Act 1974.

Swimming Instructor/Child Holiday Program CoordinatorMy role as a Swimming Instructor and Child Holiday Program Coordinator provided me with the opportunity to work closely with kids. I instructed and oversaw a group of children from two to ten years old in safe aquatic practices and swimming techniques whilst prioritising safety and established and applied appropriate guidelines that encourage positive behaviour. I cultivated an engaging and enjoyable environment for children conducive to learning, evaluated student progress on a regular basis, and developed and maintained positive partnership with parents and families.

LifeguardAs a lifeguard, I patrolled the aquatic areas in the Challenge Stadium. I monitored the general public and multiple swimming groups including young children and maintained a safe and secure environment at all times. To ensure that I am well-qualified to carry out my duties, I developed Royal Surf Life Saving Skills continuously. Lastly, I responded to incidents in the aquatic areas and provided first aid in a prompt and professional manner.
