Max's passion for social justice is inspired by his diverse family background, including a lineage of activists such as his mom and his 'Uncle' Robert Fayne, an ex-Board Member with the National Urban League.In June 2020, Max's journey with Social Justice League LLC (SJL) originated from a shared frustration toward the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery. After meeting at a protest in DTLA, SJL co-founders Max Taw & Alex Sands launched a corporate giving campaign with a $1,000 goal. Less than 2 months later, Max & Alex had rallied over 2,700+ donors to raise a combined total of $818,538, split between the National Urban League and the NAACP Legal & Defense Fund.Over the course of those 2 months, Max not only developed his own lifelong passion for social impact, but he also connected with hundreds of likeminded people / organizations with a wide range of backgrounds, resources and purposes. Shortly after, in September 2020, Max connected with MLB Pitcher Keone Kela and Influential Music Artist Joe Moses to host SJL's first event: Just Us & Peace, which brought Census 2020, Voter Registration, Free Haircuts, Hot Meals and Essential Products to families in South Los Angeles.Following the success of that first event, Max saw a real opportunity to continue making a difference through SJL. So, in November 2020, he decided to quit his corporate job and fully dedicate himself to his newfound purpose.Today, as President of Social Justice League LLC, Max remains committed to following the same guiding principles that brought SJL this far: Learn with Passion. Leave an Impact.Max’s vision is to shift grassroots organizations from relying on donations to earning investments by accelerating community partners to the forefront of the fast-evolving social impact market. Through SJL, he is building bridges that connect underserved communities with corporate partners, brand sponsors and celebrity influencers via value-driven initiatives that deliver real impact to those in-need and tangible returns to those invested.Ultimately, Max truly believes in the business of doing good. For that reason, SJL is structured as a high-impact production company, which aims to transform the greatly undervalued 'do good' industry by proving that it is possible to make a dollar and a difference.
