During my employment with The Midland, I have had the privilege to work in multiple departments, giving me exposure to varied job roles, learninghow a ‘team’ is the key to a successful business. This is where I found my love for Hospitality and dealing with the public.Department’s as follows:Brasserie Bar: Customer Relations, Dealing with the public face to faceReception: cash handling and cashing up using the "Clarity" system, add on sales (up selling), Meet and greet new arrivals, Complaint handling, Computer software.Maintenance/ Housekeeping: Quick response to problems, raised by colleagues or guests, Ensuring that the hotel continues to operate to the best of it's ability.

With homelessness becoming an increasing problem, at Concept Housing we housed many people with various needs and issues with becoming homeless. From Domestic violence, prison releases, immigration, and vulnerable situations, I was intensely trained for 1month to deal with these situations that people are in and provide the best support they can get. If someone was low on food, I wouldissue food vouchers for them to either collect or have it delivered the next day if they were disabled in any way. I would support themwith bidding for properties on Bradford Homes which is a council house bidding website based on priority for homelessness. Thisfield of work gave me the opportunity to experience the other side of the world that most people don't see or don't notice in their day today lives. And with this job came with a lot of vulnerable situations for myself if someone was under the influence of drugs or alcoholas drug abuse was the main problem for most of our tenants. I would have a camera on me when visiting them and an SOS button forme to contact the police and within a 5 minute period they would be there if I was to ever be in a threatening situation. Some of thesethreatening situations would occur during my employment but I was trained to deal with them sensibly and correctly.

During my self employment at Safestyle UK as a sales rep, I gained and acquired a huge amount of sales experience as my role consisted of going to appointments all around Sheffield, Doncaster, Scunthorpe, Barnsley and Grimsby, I would greet and help net new customers, solving their problems by employing sales tactics I learned from my Safestyle sales training in Birmingham. Ensuring I gave a good first impression was crucial As people only buy from people, not salesmen. They shouldn't be sold to and more they should be taken by the hand and invest in the Safestyle family. I would listen to every problem they have, with their current windows and implement them into my negotiation solving their problems as in the end that is what I was there for. I now possess a heightened sense of self-assurance when it comes tointeracting with unfamiliar individuals, especially within diverse communities and during appointments with more vulnerable individuals. I recognize the importance of approaching such situations with patience and taking the time needed to build connections.

During my furlough at the Midland Hotel I joined a small country pub mainly being part of the function team. We made sure any special event such as weddings went ahead with a hitch. Here i learned to work under pressure, prioritize and time management
