I am an enthusiastic Biomedical Sciences gradualte who studied at the faculty of Health, Medicine and Life at Maastricht University. My master specialization is regenerative medicine, and I am very interested in this and comparable areas, like tissue engineering and stem cell therapies, but I also have major interests in other cutting edge biomedical fields like Crispr/CAS9 gene editing and gut microbiome.Although I am a scientist now, I started my academic career training to become a medical specialist. I found out that this was not for me, but the interactions I had with patients during these years and the diversity focused education have given me a stronger sense for translating research into clinical manifestations. A minor in pharmacology also helped with this increase in translational knowledge.As a person, I very much enjoy organizing and managing activities for larger groups of people. This makes that I regularly organize dinners, quizzes, and weekends for groups of more than 20 persons, which naturally has taught me skills on how to handle people’s needs and wishes, budgets and logistical thinking into days everyone can enjoy.In my free time, I like to be in the kitchen to create new and tasty dishes for me and loved ones, which makes me a great fan of the holidays. I also get energy from being with my friends and family, which helps me charge up after long days. Next to this, I love physical exercise and put on my running shoes almost every day.
