At the Radboud University are a lot of web-lectures recorded simultaneously by web-lecture assistants. This requires oversight and help when problems arise. This job requires autonomy and problem solving ability.

For this job I record web-lectures. It involves knowing composition and knowledge of technical camera related topics. It is actually so much fun because I get an inside look of other departments and their lectures, which really broadens my horizon.

The basic idea of this job is learning young students how to program in a (how I call it) simplified version of Java. The language taught is processing.So, what does the job entail?-Providing a comfortable environment to learn whilst getting these young students excited for the wonderful craft of programming. -For this job you need to be able to switch between different departments of education, and adjust the way one explains concepts. This is because in the Netherlands we have VMBO HAVO and VWO which generally corresponds to lower, middle and higher inherent cognitive abilities respectively. -Also you have to develop a certain level of patience when working with these students, and naturally be strong and confident enough to correct them when they are misbehaving.

I need to be able to: -Have patience -Explain concepts in metaphors-Have social skillsI love to work towards the "aha" moment with my students. Afterwards there is a lot of grattitude when they realise they finally got it!

This job is best described as the ordinary food and beverage job. I learned how to present myself properly to customers. Also I learned to walk with a tray on one hand, pour beer etc. It was a great experience!
