Sport has always been a huge part of my life, I’ve played for my local football club since the age of 5 and through this I’ve had the privilege to gain a 2 year scholarship with Bradford Park Avenue AFC, this being a full-time football and education programme, studying a Level 3 National Diploma in sport coaching and development. I have a vast amount of experience in the sport coaching industry, starting off as voluntary work with local grass root football clubs and local HAF providers and then progressing into paid employment.My career goal is to coach football full time. Three years ago, I began volunteering for a local company delivering a sport and HAF provision, this has opened my eyes to how important sport is in the lives of underprivileged children. As a result of this opportunity, they gave me a paid coaching position and I lead football sessions every Saturday morning across a multitude of age ranges. Another opportunity I have embraced is working with the Bradford Park Avenue grassroots junior programme coaching in their holiday camps and supporting their weekly sessions with the under 12 team. Through this I have gained a qualification from the FA, that I can use across the coaching industry. Feedback from leaders and colleagues in my paid and voluntary work tells me that I am excellent communicator, I am confident in my delivery and can clearly and concisely instruct the young people in front of me. Families are impressed with my positive approach, particularly with challenging behaviour. My sessions engage all children and I encourage them to participate in a fun and friendly way. My aim is to inspire children with my passion and love for sport and hope it ignites a passion for them. I hold a valid enhanced DBS, level two safeguarding certificate, FA first aid, FA safeguarding and Food hygiene qualification.
