I am a partner at Sintons LLP.My practice covers a wide range of employment related matters. The work load has always been based on contentious work in Tribunals throughout the UK: over the years this has developed to cover a wide variety of disputes where often jurisdictional, discrimination and complex factual backgrounds feature.Before qualifying as a solicitor I spent six years with a London based trade association, the Federation of Master Builders, dealing with industrial relations issues and other legal matters affecting the construction industry. I then moved north to qualify as a solicitor completing articles at Burnetts in Carlisle. After some years with a legal aid practice in Carlisle I moved to Newcastle and joined Short Richardson & Forth in 1999. I joined Sintons in September 2022.I am former Chair of the Law Society's Employment Law Committee, a member of the Industrial Law Society and Executive Committee member, a member of ELA and secretary of the Newcastle Employment Tribunal User Group. I am also a consulting editor with XpertHR.
