Lead Exhibit Fabricator
CurrentFabricate custom components in metal, wood, plastics and other materials based upon drawings and CAD models provided by engineers and designers.Generate 2.5 and 3 axis CAM files from provided CAD files and operate CNC router. Manual machining using a 3 axis mill and bench top lathe.Finishing work up to and including paint with a HVLP and/or artist’s airbrush.Basic carpentry utilizing hand tools and typical wood shop tools.Mold making and casting with a variety of silicone, urethane and epoxy materials.Assembly of mechanical systems per drawings/verbal instructions from engineers.On-site finishing and installation of exhibits. Maintain shop equipment and supplies as well as shop organization.Responsible for the quality of exhibits produced as it relates to craftsmanship, functional operation and overall aesthetics as determined by the design.Mentor and train new exhibit fabricators.Develop best practices and work to implement them alongside managers and team members.
