Maksim (Max) is a financial executive and thought leader with over 16 years of experience in financial services and investment operations. In his current position, Max oversees financial operations of a Baltimore-based, VC-backed K-12 tech-enabled educational services company. Prior to Concentric, Max was the Executive Vice President and CFO of PLTW, a SaaS impact-driven organization with over $110M in annual operating revenues, providing transformative learning experience to over 2 million students, across 12,800 PreK-12 schools. As the CFO and a member of the executive team, Max oversaw the organization's financial operations and compliance, board reporting; development of strategic framework; investments and treasury management; grants; as well as risk and insurance.Prior to PLTW, and shortly after graduating from the MBA program, Max oversaw investment operations at Strategic Investment Group (SIG), a pioneer in the OCIO industry. Max collaborated with senior leadership on multiple strategic initiatives and long-term projects, including client service enhancements, system replacement, automation and process improvement projects to strengthen internal controls, maximize efficiencies and enhance scalability. Prior to SIG, Max led investment operations at Georgetown University, where he was responsible for all operational and investment support functions at the investment office (focusing on both endowment and pension portfolios), including accounting and financial reporting, external audits, compliance, performance analytics, as well as risk monitoring. He began his career working in the audit practice at KPMG.Max holds an MBA from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University, a Global Executive MBA from ESADE Business School in Barcelona, and a BS in Accounting from Towson University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a CGMA designation. Max is a member of the CFO Leadership Council, The Operators Guild, Mid-Atlantic CFO Network, and the AICPA.
