As a technology tutor, I provided walk-in consultations from students with concerns about almost any software or web-based application. I assisted students with applications ranging from Microsoft Excel to Photoshop to HTML development. I assisted professors with in-class demonstrations and help field questions during presentations. I also consulted with professors to show them how to create automatically graded assignments and upload files for their students using Penn State's course management system.

During my time at Unilever, I automated a report by creating a powerful tool that automatically formats and pivots messy raw data from SAP into informative pivot tables using VBA in Excel. This data can then be used to track cost savings projects and amortization. Secondly, as part of a global initiative for compliance, I analyzed 575 SKUs for inconsistencies between their cost sheets, SAP, and Interspec. Lastly, one of the problems in third party manufacturing was that the process of on-boarding new vendors was always relearned and took too long. I learned all the steps necessary to bring a new vendor on-board with 3rd party manufacturing. I then compiled them along with necessary forms and contacts, into one centralized place so anyone who needs to do this process is able to quickly see how.

During my time at Estée Lauder, I updated the master WIP list which helps prevent the creation of duplicate WIPs as well as prevents unnecessary production. I developed an understanding of cannibalization in a high end market, which is when the launch of a new product eats into the sales of an existing product line. I also identified over $600,000 in excess inventories (expired, discontinued, no demand) from distribution centers across the globe, and began the process of cleaning these up. These inventories attributed to 15% of Clinique's SKUs as represented in the Magic Quadrant.

As a co-op at Unilever, I developed an excel-based information system which is used to measure attainment from Unilever's contract packers. This tool pulled data from SAP, which was parsed and uploaded to a SQL server. Excel could then talk with the SQL and gave the ability to assign reasons as to why certain POs did not meet their production threshold. This information could then be pivoted into charts in order for material planners to identify recurring issues from their contract packers. This information system required me to learn a lot about creating macros using VBA in excel.

Intercos is a contract manufacturer for the cosmetic industry. As an intern at Intercos, I created, revised, and transmitted over 100 purchase orders through SAP. Being in this position also gave me the opportunity to study all the different roles needed to run a purchasing team. I helped collaborate with one of our suppliers to reduce the cost and reduce the environmental impact of one of Intercos's most commonly used chemicals. I was also asked to work in the receiving department for a week, where I received and palletized hundreds of pallets through SAP.

Through this internship in Bangladesh, I explored operations in every department of the bank as well as provided improvements for operating efficiency and strategic marketing. I visited clothing and shoe factories, and developed an understanding of the culture behind manufacturing in Bangladesh. During this time, I also gained a deep appreciation for a completely different culture and atmosphere.

I served for 10 months on the Deloitte Team in Kensington International Business High School as a friend and mentor. I motivated students in five classes to develop a better sense of appreciation for themselves and others, as well as an appreciation for their education. My team and I created after school activities and school wide events in a school in which none previously existed. I performed over 2,000 hours of community service throughout Philadelphia during this year. I also worked on the City Heroes team during the weekend, which empowers students to become leaders in their communities.
