"De Beeldenfabriek" in Rotterdam specializes in architecture visualizations since 1998. A team of over 40 professionals create high quality and stunning artist impressions, 3D animations and VR experiences. My role in the company was to create architectural designs in 3D, and to capture the essence of the project with materials, surroundings and light. The designs are built based on 2D drawings, or on Revit models, with the software 3ds Max. In this program the entire building, the surroundings, natural elements such as plants, grass and trees, and people are built in 3D, to enable VR experiences. Itoo Forest Pack and Railclone are used to model the surroundings, the renders are made with Vray, and Photoshop is used for the finishing touch when creating an artist impression. In 2016, I started part-time during my graduation project at Delft University of Technology. After my graduation I stayed on at the Beeldenfabriek working full-time for 6 months until I moved to New York City in the summer of 2018.

During my Masters, I did a traineeship for 6 months at Fokkema and Partners Architects. I quickly became a full member of the design team and worked on construction drawings and 3D models of several great projects. Fokkema & Partners, guided by Diederik Fokkema, principal at the company, is considered as one of the foremost companies in the Netherlands regarding building transformation, sustainability and LEED design. They work with many big companies for their office design, such as Google and Ernst & Young (EY), and won multiple awards for innovative and sustainable design. I worked at the company on many different projects, and quickly moved up to becoming a full time member of the design teams for the renovation of the headquarters of Friesland Campina, the headquarters of the Dutch railway, and the renovation of a renowned investment company Newomij. Furthermore, I created multiple renderings, diagrams, 3D models, and designed furniture for various projects. The traineeship at Fokkema & Partners has been a great experience where I learned to work in a professional environment. Due to a focus on interior design, it was possible for me to work on many different projects, and to experience the design from the user's perspective.
