Former CEO of INPS and Chairman of Cegedim Rx, two major suppliers to the NHS and Community Pharmacy markets, I ensured we were constantly developing high quality products that provided innovation, not for the sake of it, but to help clinicians take good care of their patients in an efficient and cost-effective fashion. This philosophy extended to acquiring companies that broaden our customer reach and product breadth and setting those companies on a path towards prosperity.The world of Healthcare IT is increasingly aware of the benefits that good, well thought-out software solutions can bring to a challenging health economy. That includes solutions to enable different systems to inter-operate with each other to share valuable patient data and to enable patients to play a greater role in their own health. With patients expecting to be able to interact with their GP and other healthcare providers using tablets, smart phones and the Internet, it was my responsibility to make sure that INPS was at the forefront of new technologies.As a group, Cegedim are heavily involved with not just GPs and community healthcare workers, but also with pharmacists who are being asked to provide a greater range of patient services to alleviate pressure on GP practices. Our ambition was to enable much greater information sharing between the two care settings and create a much more complete record of all of a patient’s medical interventions.
