● Engage residents as leaders in the process of building an integrated, holistic community center at Pomonok & support local leadership development via recruitment, training and task assignments.● Provide a comprehensive & integrated family counseling and case management service delivery model that promote individual, household, & community well-being & helps families who are facing a complex array of challenges to develop & implement a comprehensive family plan.● Provide intensive case management support & service coordination to 50 unique households, representing approximately 180 family members.● Provide coordinated-events that build their residence connection to the Center and facilitate volunteerism and intergenerational engagement.

Work with a multidisciplinary team – New York Police Department, the Administration of Children’s Services, the local District Attorney’s Office, Corporation Counsel and local medical providers – in a child-friendly setting to conduct joint forensic interviews and provide expert coordinated investigation and response to improve the quality of child abuse investigations, prosecutions and outcomes to minimize the trauma to child victims and their families. Provide immediate, and expert trauma focused intervention and support the child, siblings and non-offending parents.Key Accomplishments:● Conduct a thorough assessment of the child and the non-offending family members to determine the impact of the trauma onthe child’s functioning and the need for additional services for the child and family.● Conduct developmentally-sensitive and legally sound method of factual information regarding allegations of abuse and/orexposure of violence.● Provide trauma focused intervention through the Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention model and support to thechild, siblings and non-offending parent(s) in the process of making effective referrals and other services when warranted.

Responsible for providing a link between constituents of Council District 8 and the Council Speakers plan of action on local district issues and city-wide actions. Advised the Speaker on issues impacting the District, including, but not limited to, immigration issues, gun violence, youth issues, educational issues and environmental concerns. Managed a $ 2 million public budgeting initiative through Participatory Budgeting, as well as multiple council initiatives worth over $1 million, while ensuring contractual obligations were consistently met.Key Accomplishments:● Conducted needs assessments throughout the district to better understand community needs and concerns; and implemented various action plans based off of the assessments, which include but are not limited to: educational workshops, Know Your Rights campaigns and bringing providers and services closer to constituents.● Achieved the two highest public budgeting participation rates since the initiative’s inception in 2011.● Developed and maintained partnerships with community stakeholders in Highbridge, Mott Haven, and the South Bronx.● Redeveloped an existing Anti-Violence Peace March into a week-long Anti-Violence Campaign with recurring peaceworkshops to more effectively communicate with and mentor youth.

Developed maximum safe travel potential and functional independence in a variety of environments using appropriate techniques.Key Accomplishments:● Advocated for clients to ensure their rights were being met as per the Americans with Disabilities Act.● Provided therapeutic counseling to clients on their recent vision loss and the impact it has on their daily lives.

At Southeast Brooklyn Family Services, I had the unique opportunity to counsel 12+ families in individual, family, and group sessions on-site and in client's homes. I exercised a client-centric counseling approach tailored to the client and integrated play therapy, psychotherapy, and evidence-based practices to meet the social, behavioral, and emotional needs of the client.Targeting topics impacting Spanish immigrant households, I focused on preventing teen suicide, advocating for victims of human trafficking, and peaceful resolution of domestic conflicts. I ensured that my clients have access to much-needed services, mental health facilities, substance abuse programs, and Administration of Children's Services to ensure positive progress and safety.

I managed contractual financial obligations outlined by the DYCD to ensure continued program funding. I was instrumental to coordinating and promoting Manhattan HANAC's legal immigration special events for the community and was a key contributor to a more active, engaged population through counseling and referral services.As a bilingual professional, I was able to translate government documents for Spanish speaking clients.

I dedicated my time and resources into holistic planning to deliver long-term success pf families. Working continuously with multi-disciplinary teams to assist homeless and formerly homeless families for continued functional housing, I effectively advocated for families on housing, benefits, shelter transfers, and personal matters. As an Advisor, I helped to create strategic outreach plans to engage and enrich the community in addressing the needs of homeless families. I provided direct assistance with benefits and entitlement applications including Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, SNAP, and public housing.
