About Max Duda

An insatiable fascination with how things work has driven me down a few different roads in my day, and currently that's focused on CNC Mill CAM Programming, building Racecars, designing automotive components, and shooting pictures to tell the tale in Terabites worth of words. My primary career path has been machining for about 15 years, and my curiosity has opened many doors in that realm. I've apprenticed under several master machinists, and they've taught me how to setup any mill fixturing I've come across, massive (muti-ton) or tiny; as well as a CNC, Engine, Toolroom, and Vertical Turret Lathes. Been shown the ways of Cutter design and grinding. I've worked closely with some great mechanical engineers, and discussed scientific definitions of material constraints to great lengths. I love learning hard, probable definitions of the technical jargon a lot of my peers seem to have just a vague grasp on. Well versed in AMSE Y14.5 and equipped with literature to discuss/debate with Engineers or Quality Assurance heads about it any time. Passed 100+ point 1st article inspection plans and drawn up many in-proccess inspection sheets, all to AS9100 standards.Delighted to learn any new software you might have to program high-speed toolpaths or 3D surfacing, and confident in my experience to program 2.5D toolpaths on multi-offset, multi-axis jobs. Was taught MasterCAM by a quite clever fellow when it was just the two of us in the Mill department, programming multiple parts a day, so I have some pretty quick tricks with that. Written programs in SolidCAM, BobcadCAM, Fusion and HAAS VPS as well.An affinity for technical drawings possessed me to take several drafting courses, and I can pencil a properly decent part print on a regular workbench in a day. I have modeled many parts in MasterCAM, and have decent experience in Solidworks and AutoCAD as well. Been tinkering around with 3D-printer Slicing software a bit recently too.
