Facilitating advanced audio engineering, critical listening, music production and sound design skills in a classroom and/or recording studio setting. I use my skills and knowledge garnered from decades of experience as a live sound engineer, recording studio engineer, music producer and instrumentalist to create curriculums, incorporating engaging discussions, helpful activities, and passion projects that teach students critical high-level skills that are equitable, practical and professional for a future in the field. Students under my tutelage will finish one of my courses and walk away better prepared to pursue their dreams and careers, whether as a musician, engineer, or sound designer.

KidsTek is a program that has connected the resources and opportunities of the technology sector with the identified technology education needs of students in Colorado's underserved communities since 1999. As an instructor, I taught practical tech skills through fun and passion-inducing projects that helped students to learn and to grasp the power of technology in ways that will benefit their future careers. By creating lesson plans that incorporate games and challenges into the latest versions of various office and workplace applications, these activities allowed students to gain interest and excitement towards tech and a head start on their computer literacy.

I was a Teen Services Mentor in the YOUmedia program in the Columbus Metropolitan Library system. YOUmedia is a connective learning/maker space that allows young adults to learn new multimedia skills in a comfortable setting and with the latest technology available. I used my proficiency in audio engineering, digital art, web development and other multimedia to help students reach the next level in their creative interests. My experience in a real world environment, having run a business and being a professional musician, allowed an additional level of depth in the mentoring process. Some of the teens I worked with have developed portfolios that allowed them to get scholarships or attend undergraduate programs that they otherwise would not have been able to experience.The growing expansion of the YOUmedia program has given me more of a managerial position, where responsibilities of other mentors, programming, scheduling and facilitation of administrative tasks has become a daily operation.

Ran house sound for the venue multiple nights a week. Responsibilities included maintaining equipment, making alterations and improvements when possible, setting up and tearing down equipment before and after shows, maintaining the schedule for our stable of audio engineers, and making sure musicians and other clients are properly taken care of on a nightly basis.

Music Loves Ohio is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for children of all backgrounds in Central Ohio to learn, perform, and record music. Music Loves Ohio donates instruments to students as well as hosts workshops throughout the year as well.

Teaching classes on digital audio programs like GarageBand and ProTools as well as basic instrument micing techniques. In addition to teaching classes, I also held office hours every week, helping students of all ages gain access to sophisticated audio recording equipment as well as furthering their education.
