The LDE traineeship taught me how to swiftly adapt to new working environments. At the Faculty of Archaeology, my knack for history resurfaced. I mapped faculty work flows and helped make process improvements. Helping the Faculty improve itself in many ways.

Learning continued at my first 'real' job, straight out of university. At the Diversity & Inclusion Office, I helped underrepresented groups at the university to be heard, learned how to write policy analyses and helped people see unconscious biases we all hold.

Not only did I learn as a UNL delegate; I also learned lots from being one of their public speaking trainers. Helping people overcome their fears of presenting. Helping them expand their skills. And helping them build confidence. Three things I still love to do, both on- and off-'duty'.

I can't even begin to describe the many things I have learned from my UNL time. UNL gave me my first 'real' chance at public speaking, tested me in influencing others, and gave me my first taste of international diplomacy; at the Model UN simulations of Oxford and Harvard University.

At the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs I learned so many things I won't ever forget. I helped deploy civilian experts to fragile states, co-facilitated a €45 million Mine Action grant programme and went to Brussels for meetings of the EU's Trustfund for Syria. Experiences I hold dearly.
