Max Gruson (1995 Tilburg NL) is a postdisciplinary theatre maker. His works exists in the overlap between performing arts, visual arts and digital technology. On the boundary of experiential theatre and installation art, he evaluates everyday reality. The audience is often directly involved in his work, to intimately question their own position on a subject.Starting from current societal reality Max avoids a clear-cut positioning. Instead, he challenges the audience to doubt the status quo. Why do we think what we think, do what we do, feel what we feel? In asking these questions his idealism appears. In the end he hopes to create new ways in which we can experience both solidarity and individuality at the same time. How can we be one and yet different?In 2022 Max graduated from the Directing programme at the Toneelacademie Maastricht. In 2023 he graduated in Contemporary Art History as part of Language and Cultural Studies at Utrecht University. Next to his activities as a theatre maker he works as a web developer, graphic designer and writer.
