I am an upcoming May 2025 graduate of Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting.The summer of my Sophomore year at Kelley I earned the opportunity to study abroad in Ireland where I attended classes at University College Dublin. As part of that experience, I interviewed and was hired to intern at Invesco Investment Management Ltd. There I worked with the product team on a range of Invesco Mutual Funds, focusing on data validation. This provided hands-on experience with mutual fund data analysis and compliance.This most recent summer I had the incredible opportunity to work under the finance team at Global Infrastructure Partners, getting hands on experience and learning fundamental principles of private equity and related accounting. While there, I worked on quarterly reports containing fund performance and respective banking activity. I also had the opportunity to review incoming accounting statements and learned how to assess their accuracy using our own data.The culmination of these experiences along with the coursework I’ve completed so far have convinced me that Accounting is an extremely important skill with applications across all businesses and industries. It is a path of study that immerses you in the key facets of business operations and molds a well-rounded graduate.
