GHP is a Swedish healthcare provider that operates specialist clinics, with a turnover of 100+ MEUR. I was part of a small agile team bringing business insights to our clinics. Selected experiences and projects include;• Set up a strategic business unit, a healthcare planning center to collect valuable data to support our sales process,• Together with the team, developed a new revolutionary pricing model (i.e. compensation), by aligning healthcare incentives to business incentives, and thus assured a stable revenue stream independent of the care provided, given that quality measures are met,• Developed a growth strategy for a specific clinic and assist with implementation; including expansion to new premises, • Developed a marketing strategy for a surgeon clinic and implemented it, • Procurement and implementation of a CRM-system, and • Due diligence of medical clinics.

I founded Linsnätet AB during my university studies. Linsnätet sells a product based on one of my own invention and in 2010 I successfully outsourced its manufacturing from Sweden to China; an experience that taught process thinking and to be better organized. Through the development och Linsnätet and managing its full business I also learnt how to develop and relate to a business model and how a company creates and captures value for both its costumers and shareholders. Late 2013 I made an exit by selling company shares; a process that gave me some insight in the due diligences process and law- and taxation jurisdiction regarding company trade. Linsnätet is today run by Leech Eyewear and Performit Sweden AB.

Identifying and understanding your customers are fundamental for becoming successful. Through the popular framework Customer Development, developed by Steve Blanks et al, I became interested in the second part of the framework: the Customer Discovery process, and more especially how this can or should be applied when a new product differentiate itself enough from existing products that it can be considered likely it will create a new market. One well known example of this type of unusual cases is the Segway. Another potential example is e-Volo's Volocopter, which made a perfect case for this research. e-Volo agreed to be part of this research. This Master Thesis was divided into to parts, one research oriented towards our university and one business oriented, consoling e-Volo based upon market research.The study was conducted in Ca, USA.
