During my years as a doctoral researcher, I focused on studying the cellular mechanisms that control muscle regeneration through cell migration. I successfully demonstrated that progenitor cells present in adipose tissue, known as adipose-derived stromal cells, migrate to the injured muscle to participate in its regeneration. These cells are also extensively used in cellular therapies today. Once within the muscle, they exhibit the ability to interact with their environment, particularly with satellite cells (muscle stem cells), promoting their differentiation.
