As an equity analyst, I’m involved in all the aspects of the investment process, from the initial research to the investment recommendations. Covered companies are publicy traded around the world but mostly on Canadian and U.S. stock exchanges. Investments are made with a long-term investment horizon and based on principles of value investing.- Conduct required research on potential investment opportunities, including fundamental and financial analyses, financial modeling, and valuation, with the objective of making recommendations on next steps thereon;- Follow, analyze and write quarterly investment reviews on investee companies;- Construct financial models to assess the evolution and the performance of investments;- Make recommendations to portfolio managers;- Involved, with portfolio managers, in the decision-making process regarding the portfolio; and- Follow macro-economic and micro-economic indicators impacting results of investee companies.

As a senior adviser, I was involved in all aspects of the valuation process of private and publicly traded companies. Also, some mandates involved the valuation of intangibles assets following a transaction.- Participate in meetings with senior management of companies, to gain knowledge of their business model;- Analyze corporate and financial documents of companies operating in a wide-range of sectors;- Perform, based on financial models, business valuations;- Write valuation reports based on the standards of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators; and- Involved in specific mandates: interest rate determination, credit rating analysis and financial analysis.
