About Maxime Simard
I am a loyal, eager, experienced and efficient software designer with over 18 years’ experience in C and C++ real-time embedded software development.I worked for almost 15 years in the Mobile business as part of the same organisation, in three different companies due to business acquisitions (Nortel, Alcatel-Lucent, Nokia). My work revolved around User Plane data path processing and was focused on code refactoring, re-architecture and optimization. I contributed to reducing cost by streamlining processes and freeing memory and CPU time in the existing hardware. I was also involved in debugging software crashes identified by customers and test labs. I thrived when solving the most complicated and high-profile issues, especially when limited debugging information, such as code disassembly, code traceback, stack and register dumps, is available. Needless to say, I have an excellent understanding of the Assembly language.In the past year, following the acquisition of my organization by Nokia, I was assigned to a Cloud project which uses OpenStack and RedHat. I was enthusiastic about learning Python and everything Cloud-related. My problem-solving abilities were put to good use with this transition to a new coding environment. I am now versed in this field and more versatile.I work well in a team. I appreciate when mandates are clear. I long for a collaborative work environment where ideas can be brainstormed, discussed, analyzed and critiqued in order to make the best technical decisions.
