I am a 24 year old BSME graduate with a passion for growth. I enjoy learning new things, expanding my perspective/world view, and delving further into subjects and talents I already possess.During my studies at Kennesaw Statue University I have worked on several projects which include a pumpkin-throwing trebuchet, virtually designing a human-powered vehicle, and attempting to improve the design of the CVT. These projects have demonstrated to me the importance of the design process, synergy within a team, and keeping sight of the end goal.In the Summer of 2021, I was afforded the opportunity to work as a CO-OP with Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corporation (YMMC). During my time there, I was an active member of the Continuous Improvement department. My daily tasks included attending "small-group" meetings, data collection to improve the understanding of how processes were being performed, and fabrication. My overarching project at YMMC involved the handling of recyclable materials within plant two. I evaluated the current state of the material handling through observation, video analysis, and close-communication with the material handler responsible for recycling operations. After developing an understanding of the current state, I utilized several root cause analysis techniques and found two causes within the scope of my project and implemented solutions to them. I designed a combined recycling and trash stand to be built from a modular building system, FlexPipe. The design held a standard Rubbermaid 3-gallon wastebasket, removed a flat surface, and gave operators an ergonomic trash solution. I led a team of three operators in building and modification forty-five stands; a build plan created in LayOut ensured uniformity and improved task flow. By designing a pickup route and schedule, I ensured the recycling would be brought to the baler consistently and effectively. Through implementation of new recycling baler tools, I improved the Job Hazard Analysis score of this process by 28% and reduced baling time by 40%.Outside of the professional world I enjoy life with my girlfriend, our two dogs, and our roommate. I spend my free time gardening, skateboarding, enjoying nature, or relaxing with a craft sour beer and some television.I look forward to making connections with friends, coworkers, and employers!
