I investigated the combination of floating wind offshore platforms and OWC wave energy converter as add-ons to decrease the overall LCOE. Simulations in OpenFAST and Modelica were performed. The results will be presented at EWTEC 2023.

I performed simulations of floating lidar wind measurement systems in Matlab. Furthermore I was participating in the postrocessing of data from real floating lidar systems.

In the development department for Lithium-Ion technologies I participated in the simulation and laboratory analysis of Lithium-Ion cells. For this purpose I developed matlab programs to visualize results and cooperated with the team members in the laboratory in developing test routines.

Decreasing the cost of renewable energies is key for increasing the deployment of renewable energy. To decrease cost of site assessment for offshore wind projects, the use of floating lidar systems for wind measurements instead of expensive measurement masts is investigated. In my thesis I simulated floating lidar systems and investigated how the buoy movement induced by the waves disturbs the measurement. I also compared different algorithms to correct these errors using as few sensor data as possible.
