Forensic Psychologist specializing in geriatric psychology, will contests, undue influence, and criminal psychology.I earned my bachelor’s degree from Trinity University in 1995, double majoring in psychology and religious studies. I earned my master’s and doctoral degrees in counseling psychology from the University of Denver in 1997 and 2001, respectively. I am a psychologist who is currently licensed in Colorado, and I have been continuously licensed in Colorado since 2004. I have been continuously licensed in Wyoming since 2014, and I am credentialed through PSYPACT to conduct forensic psychological evaluations in a total of 41 states. I have conducted evaluations in 21 states.I own my own practice, where I specialize in forensic psychology services, including civil capacity and criminal competency assessments. Roughly 50% of my practice is clinical/therapeutic in nature, where I work with, evaluate, and treat older adults. 25% of my practice involves evaluations where the older adult is deceased. The remainder of my practice involves working with criminal defendants and civil litigators.I have engaged in hundreds of hours of post-graduate training in forensic psychology, forensic assessment, geropsychology, and neuropsychology. I was also on the faculty of the University of Denver for twelve years, where I supervised practicum students, advised students, and taught classes in psychological and neuropsychological assessment and in the ethical and legal issues related to the practice of psychology. I have been qualified as an expert and testified under oath more than 115 times. I have conducted hundreds of evaluations related to probate matters, including Guardianship and Conservatorship, testamentary capacity, and undue influence and exploitation.I have presented numerous times on issues related to guardianship, conservatorship, undue influence, testamentary and contractual capacity, and forensic psychology. Many of these presentations have qualified as CLEs for attorneys. I have written extensively on undue influence statutes and case law from all 50 states. I have worked nationwide on undue influence and financial exploitation cases with estates ranging from $100,000 to more than $4.5 billion.I've worked in 45 different prisons and jails, including the ADX Supermax (I'm one of the few non-BOP employees to have been granted a full tour of the facility).I've also written three books, including books on narcissism and psychopathy.
