Course: Introduction to International Relations (Faculty of Political Sciences)

Served as Resident Country Director for the USAID/OTI funded political party development program in Venezuela. Principal achievements have included: contribution to the unification efforts of the democratic opposition for the 2006 Presidential Elections; successful development of Campaign Schools for the 2004 Regional Elections, 2005 Municipal Elections and Congressional Elections, and the support for internal modernization processed for political parties. Additional programs have included NED grants for party youth, in which IRI has helped the identification and preparation of emerging leaders, local leaders, and regional leaders and in the effective implementation of party youth branch expansion, through effective and modern communications tools, most specifically through the utilization of modern websites created especially for the youth.Administrative work has included preparations of proposals, budgets, work plans, and quarterly reports for the Venezuela program. Manages staff of 4 local employees and one International long-term Consultant. He served as chief IRI liaison with USAID, the US Embassy, and the political parties.

Served as Executive Director, working directly with the Chairman and the Board of Directors. Managed organizational budgets, created work plans, prepared proposals for European Donors such as: the Hans Seidel Foundation from Germany, the Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation from Sweden and the Westminster Foundation from Great Britain. Coordinated 21 Political Parties in 16 different countries around Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as 5 associated Parties from Spain, Canada, Taiwan, France and Germany. Administered all the organization's assets & finance and coordinated with the regional Vice-presidents to decentralize the work of the Chairman.

GuatemalaInternational and Interparliamentary Relations Adviser, Chief of Staff Office.Served as Advisor and liaison with other Regional Parliaments including the European Parliament, Latin American Parliament, and Andean Parliament among others, and with National Assemblies and National Congresses in various countries around Latin America. Developed the international relations agenda of the Parliament, based on needs of the various Committees, Representatives, and the Board of Directors.

GuatemalaPolitical Analyst and Senior Staff to the Board of Directors.Worked as a political analyst in the Communications and Press office of the Parliament, focusing on Central American political issues. Served a Senior Staff Member to the Board of Directors, where duties included: assisting with Board meetings, scheduling and agenda setting, international travel, strategic work plans, Parliamentary sessions scheduling and speech writing.
