While residing in Alice Springs Maxine worked both as an employee and in a freelance capacity for a number of Indigenous organizations. Through this experience she gained an understanding of Indigenous culture and the issues that impact on education, health and cultural identity.She continues to work freelance with clients in the Northern Territory.

Burdon Torzillo are a private company who work predominately with Indigenous communities and corporations.They develop cross cultural tools and software in areas that include strategic and business planning, financial reporting, good governance training, facilitation, negotiation and community development.Role: provide high quality graphical and information designs. She works closely with the team bringing Burdon Torzillo's visual explanations to life.

Casual position

Role: Maxine's position as lecturer involved the development, delivery and assessment of Multimedia Design in accordance with the Multimedia training package.

Role: as Production Controller/Designer in the Indigenous Book Publishing Unit Maxine was responsible for maintenance of high quality production and design: layout, typesetting, print and binding, including the preparation of budgets and schedules.

Role: her position as lecturer involved the development, delivery and assessment of Cert 111 and Cert 1V in Graphic Design.

Waltja is a community based Aboriginal Organisation in Alice Springs, working across the Central Desert Region. Waltja supports the development and management of innovative and appropriate services in remote communities.Role: as the Supervisor/Trainer in the Public Relations Unit Maxine was involved in the training and supervision of young Indigenous trainees in software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, PageMaker and InDesign) relevant to the production of all internal publications.
