Maxine Fox Email and Phone Number
I spent many years as a senior leader in secondary schools, driving the importance of a restorative ethos in our education system. Being dedicated to supporting the pastoral needs of the students. However, as time went on, it became increasingly difficult to witness the struggles of so many students in the mainstream system, where their unique needs were often unmet. I took a bold step into a new venture, creating an alternative education provision with a strong commitment to a restorative ethos. Now I am part of a team that ensures every student is heard, their unique needs are addressed and relationships are nurturedAt the River Bourne Edge, students not only find support but also learn to make empowered choices, paving the way for their personal and academic progress.www.theriverbourneedge.com I specialise in behaviour management through the use of restorative approaches. Each school I have moved to has been for the purpose of implementing restorative practices using restorative approaches. I have been in my current school for 5 years and I am currently building connections with many schools and local authorities across the country to develop restorative practices in all schools. This ethos is more important than ever now in schools as we all try and recover from the after effects of the pandemic. I am a member of the Wiltshire and Swindon Restorative Together Board and have presented and delivered training on RP at large conferences and in many schools.

Head Of Alternative ProvisionDirect Care Feb 2024 - PresentUnited KingdomThere is a gap in education, that is having a detrimental effect on young people who are struggling in mainstream education. This has been intensified by the impact of COVID. Through my career in secondary schools and specialising in creating a restorative ethos, I made the decision to leave the school setting and focus my skills on opening alternative provisions to support some of the disadvantage students in Southampton, Hampshire and Wiltshire. I am currently working with AFC Totton who are determined to support as many students as they can through their Development Program, with a focus on football. In May of this year we opened the doors of our alternative provision in Salisbury, creating a restorative ethos to support students in Hampshire and Wilshire. Last week we had our official opening ceremony, the ribbon was cut by Belinda Hopkins, someone I have looked up to for many years and someone who has influenced the choices I make everyday in my life.
