•Performed cost and performance comparisons between vendors, with results presented to management and procurement department for Ice protection systems and airdata systems.•Performed preliminary and final system design reviews and coordinated specifications and drawings using resources and requirements such as industry standards, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations•Coordinated requirements with team members such as mechanical engineering, electrical, avionics systems, structural design, aerodynamics, software, procurement and manufacturing.•Managed vendors in the areas of mechanical design scopes, scheduling, budgets, system cost, and design review issues. •Approved vendor documentation such as component specifications, Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), Safety of Flight Test Plan, Safety of Flight Report, and Qualification Test Plan (QTP).•Wrote aircraft Functional Test Procedures (FTP’s).•Liaison with manufacturing and flight test.•Product improvement study to improve laminar flow on the wings•Aircraft ice protection system. As lead engineer, responsible for design and certification of the components for the aircraft ice protection systems. Coordinated component and system design, ensuring the aircraft meets and complies with FAA regulations. Work with component suppliers on a day to day basis for the pneumatic system, windshield & airdata probe. Plus coordinating with flight test department for upcoming fight testing which involves the ice protection systems.•Coordinated and witnessed icing tunnel testing of the wing and horizontal leading edge ice protection systems
