I am currently employed in the Highways and Transportation department of Leeds City Council, completing a Degree Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering. At the moment, I work within the Maintenance Design Team and have a responsibility to maintain Leeds' road network. I previously worked in the Mental Health Team, in an Administration role, dealing with referrals to mental health services. It was rewarding work, but ultimately I needed to pursue my own career aims. Prior to working for the council, I spent close to a decade working within a management teams of retail stores, and the service industry. My positive, customer focussed approach allowed me opportunities to train staff throughout the company and create environments that put the customer at the forefront of the decision-making process.Throughout my career, I’ve always tried to maintain a positive and proactive approach to the work I do, and create a positive work environment!
