Led Community of Practice for project management, business analysis and change management across the organisation including the establishment of a Digital Project Management Office. Responsible for supplier and contract management ensuring that the digital services budget is spent wisely and maximum benefit is leveraged from supplier relationships. Worked on establishing the digital maturity of the organisation and introducing an end-to-end service based approach with the user at the centre. Consulted with the Chief Executive and Directors on the 3 year Digital Strategy blueprint together with writing the document and communicating the central themes. Significant achievements during this period include managing the digital rebrand from HCA to Homes England, managing the major procurement activity surrounding the appointment of our digital partner, managing the increased digital budget of £13m and implementing Facebook Workplace to improve collaboration across the agency.

Responsible for the Council’s corporate customer services (including call centre and one-stop shops) as well as the IT and telephony service provision by the in-house team and external suppliers. Led the combined team of over 170 staff and managed the budget of £17m.Responsible for the Council’s Access to Services Strategy and delivery programmes covering technology enabled delivery and customer access. The focus was on providing combined customer oriented service delivery across the organisation and geared towards reaching all residents, businesses and visitors.

Established the first Project and Programme Management Centre of Excellence in Local Government. Led the design and embedding of the Waltham Forest Project Life Cycle. This progressed to a portfolio management approach enabling the Management Board to oversee progress on key strategic programmes. Managed key strategic relationships with major suppliers including Dell, BT and Northgate as well as overseeing the trialing and introduction of new technologies like smart cards, wireless city, Blackberry devices & tablet PCs. Programme managed one of the Council’s 3 strategic programmes, “Access 2 Services“, which included projects to transform the Council’s web presence and interaction with it’s customers.

Responsible for leading and managing a number of projects within the trust implementation of the national CRS (Care Records Service) programme, part of the NHS National Programme for IT (NPfIT). Project managed the establishment of the first NHS Registration Authority in London to control and issue over 6,000 user Smartcards to access the CRS system and govern the required security process and protocols. Also project managed the migration of patient data from existing legacy systems into the new national CRS system.
