R&D Algorithm/Firmware Engineer
Actively researching and prototyping an embedded advanced anomaly detection system for diagnosing assay analysis faults and system faults in an upcoming diagnostic product at Cepheid. Leveraging MATLAB for rapid prototyping and algorithm development, while employing C for the final implementation to meet stringent performance requirements. Accountable for providing ongoing support and maintenance for the existing anomaly detection system, ensuring its reliability and effectiveness in detecting faults.
R&D Firmware Engineer Intern
Researched, developed, and implemented an advanced anomaly detection system for diagnosing data anomalies in assays for an upcoming diagnostic product at Cepheid. Utilized MATLAB for rapid prototyping and algorithm development, and subsequently implemented the system in C for optimized performance. Presented the results and findings to team members and superiors, highlighting improvements in accuracy and efficiency. Collaborated closely with cross-functional teams to integrate the anomaly detection system into the diagnostic product. Demonstrated effective communication skills in conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. This internship provided valuable hands-on experience in computer vision, signal processing, and software development, contributing to my growth and development as a biomedical engineer.
Biomedical Engineering Master'S Student (Thesis Track)
Partnering with Sony to use the new Spresense microcontroller to deploy machine learning models for biomedical applications. I am looking to develop a personalized pressure sensing system to provide at-home diagnosis/care for those with lower limb prosthetics. Skills include embedded machine learning, circuit prototyping, data management, and mechanical testing. Leading a team of four other engineering undergraduates to assist with novel aspects of the project.
Biomedical Engineering Student
Student Researcher
Creating a machine learning algorithm using PyTorch and Detectron2 to detect key infant movements in videosCoding in Python and using machine learning algorithmsLeading a multi-disciplinary teamImproving research and writing skills
Chief Operations Officer
I was the Chief Operations Officer for the EMPOWER: LLEAP club, where we are attempting to build an exoskeleton for a member of our community who is paraplegic. I lead a team of over 30 engineering students, addressing logistical work such as finances and team meetings as well as managing/contributing to the software group. I regularly lead meetings, helped members, assigned tasks, and effectively compiled progress reports for my superiors. I specifically worked with ROS (Robot Operating System) as well as some of the electronics and controllers, although I do assist with the prototyping as well. Previously, I was a technical lead for the electronics and software groups.
Student Researcher
Collaborated with a team of students and professors to find a solution to the ill-posed inverse for Electrical Impedance Tomography. With this technique, we are able to image the human body using only voltage and current data. Gained skills in research, MATLAB, Bayesian statistics, electronics, and pythonWrote research papers and presented findings to fellow students and professors
Home Mover
Worked 30+ hours a week as a mover during the summers where I learned aspects of teamwork, creative problem solving, and how to talk to costumers.
