About Massimo (Max) Marcatili
At separation from IBM I was the principle Capacity Planner in the VMWare space for several major customers, presenting regular reporting and analysis to management on some of Australia’s largest VMWare installations.Prior to this I was engaged in a Performance and Capacity Analyst role in the midrange space. Here I designed, developed and implemented new processes and methodologies firmly based in ITIL concepts which delivered application-centric capacity reporting and forecasting at the business, service and component layers. These processes were developed using a mix of SQL Server, Visual Basic, VB script, Word, Excel, MS Reporting Services. These processes enabled the team to become significantly more productive by at least a factor of 10 and were (and still are) well accepted by the customer. In 2014 I subsequently mentored a global team in the use and support of these tools then transferred day to day delivery to them.Time previously spent as a midrange DBA Team Leader role helped develop leadership skills, particularly as the lead person implementing LEAN and GDF through the team. The above skills are projected against a strong background as a mainframe z/OS CICS System Programmer with over 25 years experience, both within and outside IBM. Approximately 15 of those years were as a well respected contractor working with many, many clients in a wide variety of industrial sectors including insurance, finance, Australian government departments (both state and federal), utilities, manufacturing, banking, education and so on.
Listed skills include Capacity Planning, Z/Os, Systems Programming, Assembly Language, and 14 others.
