After over a decade working in “big law” and regional law firms, I have been blessed with the opportunity to found my own firm with my amazing partners at GPS Law Group. Since having my own firm, I have been able to focus on my dual passions of being a business law adviser and leveraging technology to provide efficient, technology-based legal deliverables. In the advisory component of my practice, I serve as general counsel and transaction counsel to clients in various industries including independent health care practices, third party insurance administrators, non-profits, and banking and private real estate finance businesses. I strive to give my clients a balanced approach of identifying business and legal risks while providing practical deal-oriented solutions. In the technological aspect of my practice, I consistently implement cutting edge solutions to create efficiency in my practice and deliver results that can be operational (instead of summarized in a memo). Here are some examples of how I have leveraged technology to create efficiencies for my clients and to deliver better results: Creating customized contract management databases for health care clients to use as a HIPAA compliance tool. Creating customized agreements for a third-party insurance administrator using Doxsera system’s document automation capabilities so that complex provisions of the agreement can be automatically populated based on a question and answer functionality. Using KIRA cloud-based AI system to manage large scale due diligence for buy-side transactions and preparation of disclosure schedules for sell-side transactions. Preparing VC and private equity style cap tables with multiple rounds of financing, including tracking milestone vesting options for large workforces on the Solium/CorporateFocus platform
