My role at Amazon started as an individual contributor Front-End Developer focused on automation of labor capacity estimations and moved towards building tools to help streamline the work needed to maintain jurisdictions for our delivery stations. In 2020, I moved from an IC role to lead to grow and manage a team of dedicated SDE and FEEs who specialize on internally facing products for AMZL to help make sure you get your things on time. My team, deemed "the FEDs" (or Front End Developers) owns front-end development practices for the Last Mile Execution Planning org. This involves building software platforms to support new business initiatives, inheriting existing platforms to converge into our existing stacks, and driving change to existing applications in order to improve our customers' experience.This leads to me wearing many "hats" - switching between SDM, TPM, and FEE to support the business where needed. With a focus on front-end development, my applications support delivery stations world wide - including North America, Europe, Japan, Australia, and India - on a Tier-1 scale. My customers range from network level operations all the way down to individuals sitting within delivery stations. And finally, the problems I work on are challenging and ambiguous.

Front-end technical lead for the eBusiness division of the Life Sciences Group. My roles involve the following:- Leading a team of other front end developers- Training our other teams on using our pattern library and developing with good coding practice- Working closely with our UX team to ensure that projects get delivered to spec- Working closely with the business to ensure that projects are delivered on time and meet our needs- Cross browser compliance (IE7+) and debugging- Integration with our various back-end systems such as Comergent/Sterling Commerce, OAM, Adobe CQ, Apache Solr, Endeca, and Microsoft FAST- Helping with production support for a large website with many complex moving parts- Leading front-end performance efforts by analyzing page speed, dependencies and references and optimizing scripts on the site and leveraging various forms of caching- Omniture and other tracking integrations from simple page views to lots of small interactions in single-page applications- Helping applications move to a services-based architecture rather than rely on server-side generated pagesI've been a major part in moving us over to newer technologies while keeping our older pieces of functionality in play - these include Bootstrap, AngularJS, jQuery, and helping drive us into the mobile/responsive territory.On top of this, I get to use and train others to use tools and technologies like Fiddler, Charles, Ant, Gulp, and a other tools of the trade.
