CurrentMax Musicant is the Founder and Principal of The Musicant Group, an award winning placemaking firm dedicated to transforming underutilized spaces into great places where people want to be and feel alive. The firm has pioneered a holistic approach to the creation of place that integrates design, events, and management systems all through the lens of the user experience. He and his firm have demonstrated that community and commercial interests all benefit from more humane, inviting, and lively places for people. Since its founding, The Musicant Group has transformed places as varied as Class A office buildings to vacant lots, from urban main streets to suburban strip malls, from block parties to bus stops. Notable projects include, programming and managing the reimagined common area of the largest office building in the state of Minnesota and transforming a derelict plaza on Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis into the “Piazza on the Mall”.
