Over the course of three rotations across accounting and finance departments, I developed a comprehensive skill set that spans financial reporting, analysis, and operational accounting.Third Rotation – Commercial Finance:• Conducted full monthly cycles of tick-and-tie procedures to ensure the accuracy of financial statements received by executives. • Played a key role in the financial close process, including preparing and reviewing 20 financial statements and reports, ranging from Discounts and Promotion Details to performing variance analysis on M-O-M changes. • Assisted in the preparation of budgets and financial outlooks, collaborating with cross-functional teams to forecast revenue and other key metrics (To be completed in November 2024).Second Rotation – Property Management Accounting:• Managed the month-end close process for 10 properties and assets, partnering with property managers to meticulously review and book accruals, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP accounting standards. • Conducted comprehensive cash forecasting for multiple holdings companies, encompassing 8 total properties, utilizing projected revenue, lease renewal probability, and other factors received from the Real Estate VP. • Managed the preparation and upload of an Excel file processing 62 journal entries, ensuring accurate reconciliation of zero balance accounts, updating it with new properties, and revising SOP for clarity.First Rotation – Corporate Accounting:• Gathered inputs and uploaded 32 monthly general ledger entries, collaborating with finance and other accounting branches. • Reconciled 40 bank and GL accounts per month, identifying and resolving discrepancies through GL reclasses and investigation of differences between general ledger and bank statements. • Supported accounts payable processes, including performing check runs, inputting invoices, and assisting with payroll.
