About Max Stevens

I've been building software since I was 10 years old when I methodically worked my way through a comprehensive book on Turbo Pascal. I started by writing code, but quickly expanded into understanding how software was used and how it was changing what could be done. In the years since I've grown to fully appreciate the challenges and opportunities that come with technology, and revel in the success when technology and customer needs fit together perfectly.I've had many roles over my time, from developer to product manager to team lead to director, working with local and remote teams, in organizations large and small. Although each role was unique, the overall approach I used was similar - I began with understanding the goals (of the customer, the business, and the team), and move on to the technology and resources at hand. I find it crucial to understand both sides of this equation at all times, as the risk of building amazing technology that no customer wants, or similarly promising solutions to customers that are incompatible with current technology, is something seen too often in this industry. Building the right technology to solve the next customer problem is my focus.Through curiosity, logic, transparency, and lots of hard work I get things done. I'm a thoughtful collaborator and an engaging communicator. I'm quick to share credit, advice, and ideas, making me a sought-after partner and leader, of both projects and people.Whether it's building value though technology, organizing teams to fire on all cylinders, or delighting customers with solutions to their problems, I enjoy doing any and all of these - what can I do for you?
