This involves not only underwriting but proposition development, P&L accountability, broker and u/w training and responsibility for our large cases.

I worked as a commercial underwriter, working out of our office in Colchester to help develop new business in the East of England. I drew on my technical knowledge across a wide-array of classes including both property and casualty, primarily focussing on professional indemnity risks. I was required to interact with brokers on a daily basis, helping to better understand their clients' motivations and offer a solution to meet their specific needs.After being promoted I was seconded to assist on a transformational project to bring our underwriting platform into the modern age. This is the largest project in the company's history and my role is to provide underwriting expertise in the design and implementation phases.
