About Maxwell Aulino

My name is Maxwell Aulino, and I am a student at Virginia Tech. I am majoring in Robotics and Mechatronics, a Mechanical Engineering major. I have always loved engineering, and in the past 6 years, I have discovered that my true passion is for robotics. My short-term goal is to get an internship for the summer of 2025. My longer term goals are to work at both private sector engineering companies and in the public sector developing robots to work alongside humans.

    During the 2022-2023 school year, I worked on an Autonomous UAV program called CCI Battledrones. I was the mechanical team lead, which meant that I lead 6 of my peers on the development of the drone platform and helped code our control software. Through this, I gained experience with ROS, Linux, the Jetson Nano processor, and the Pixhawk flight controller. This year (2023-2024) I am working with Dr. Austin Phoenix of the Hume Center and Northrop Grunmon on a project focusing on satellite logistics called Orbital Attachable Components.
