As a Student Coordinator I'm responsible for making sure the sports center is a welcoming environment for other student workers as well as an energizing and comfortable space for Reed community members to exercise in. During the pandemic I helped to operationalize, implement, and keep safety policies in the sports center. I supervise other student workers at the Reed Sports center, open and close the building for daily operations, and maintain the weight lifting and other athletic equipment.

After I took general chemistry my professor asked me to tutor and work as a teacher's assistant and I was very happy to oblige. I really loved general chemistry, the logic is very intuitive to me and where math and even sciences like physics and biology can feel very abstracted from daily life, learning why things burn or stick together or dissolve or evaporate feels so immediate and approachable to me. For most of my time here I was the senior bus person on a team of 5 people responsible for delivering settings, appetizers, and drinks to 400 people a night.
