Principal Cyber Application Engineer
CurrentOversee the research, development, and design of engineering projects in support of insider threat investigation operations for the Department of State. Responsible for training the application engineers and providing ongoing troubleshooting and technical advice to the investigative analyst team regarding various investigative technologies and the network environment. Also responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the data acquisition, user access monitoring, and forensic tools, as well as the testing lab. Responsible for all Windows system administration tasks to include assessing the stability, security, and scalability of all Windows servers, discussing system and server upgrades with IT managers, reviewing system error logs and user-reported errors, managing user access, and monitoring system performance. Manage Active Directory accounts for multiple teams and troubleshot access issues across a multidomain global enterprise. Conduct migrations of the department’s insider threat tool across multiple bundle upgrades and a transition to a hyperconverged infrastructure. Utilize PowerShell to automate and streamline various tasks for multiple teams in order to improve efficiency and expand functional capabilities. Create and maintain Splunk dashboards to support insider threat investigations and monitor infrastructure health.
