With a background in restaurant experience, I began volunteering in social services in 2014 and have since been hired to design and implement a Culinary Program, which, through grant support, led to construction of a commercial teaching kitchen. In 2019 I was promoted to Culinary Program Manager, overseeing the program budget and supervising the culinary education staff. In 2023 my role was expanded to develop a small-business-incubator Farmers Market. The market currently has seen 26 new business vendors that have been assisted with permitting, marketing, and insurance, has connected over 200 families to a Cal-Fresh/EBT Market-Match doubling program, has employed 10 community members who work in the market and serve as its advisory board, and has secured over 500k of grant support.
