My main role involves coordinating with organizations to set up events and connecting UIUC students with broader, national, and international engineering-related events. Common local events include Meet and Greets with companies and Networking Nights. National events are commonly conferences and workshops within driving distance.Additionally, I assist in teaching student-led workshops when given a chance; for example, a soldering workshop where UIUC students solder and take home a small PCB with various surface mount and through-hole components.

I am currently working on a power electronics project with Professor Arijit Banerjee at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign's Center for Electric Machinery and Electromechanics. We are developing an educational kit that uses complementary MOSFETs to teach students about gate-drive circuits. My role is focused on the educational aspect of the kit, verifying and refining instructions for conducting experiments with these boards. As such, I have been soldering the boards and conducting extensive testing with lab equipment like oscilloscopes, signal generators, DC power supplies, and Arduino microcontrollers to improve existing processes and refine documentation for conducting the educational kit’s experiments. Currently, the kit is being used in the ECE 469 Power Electronics laboratory class.

From February to May 2024, I held a position as an Electrical Engineering Intern at Electroimpact (EI), an aerospace manufacturer in Mukilteo, Washington. At EI, I learned many skills that will aid me in the future as an electrical engineer; I was given Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training and learned how to use the SolidWorks Electrical CAD software, which I use to design multi-box connections for a large-scale robot. Additionally, I played a role in assembling a mobile robot that aids in the aircraft manufacturing process (see example). To this end, I learned how to interpret schematics and connected, crimped, and labeled numerous wires while looking out for discrepancies that needed to be corrected. My internship period was three months, but I plan to keep in touch with the company and its projects throughout my college life.

In the summers of 2020-2022, I worked as an intern at the Novossolov Research Group. In my first two years, I focused on writing papers related to COVID-19 solutions. I conducted research and wrote a journal paper evaluating the efficacy of various non-standard materials for homemade facemasks. Simultaneously, I co-authored a conference paper relating to a novel invention of mine, the Social Distancing Reminder (SDR): a LiDAR-based wearable device that aids individuals in maintaining proper social distancing practices. The patenting and subsequent licensing of the SDR to GQ Electronics underscored the impact of my work. In 2022, I shifted my focus to renewable energy and became one of the students who helped establish the school’s Industrial Assessment Center (IAC). My primary role at the IAC was to market or create awareness. I orchestrated a marketing campaign for the IAC, securing dozens of lasting connections with manufacturing facilities and with engineers at utility companies, ranging from recent graduates in the energy efficiency divisions to top executives of companies.
