Maxwell Mapako is an independent sustainable energy and enterprise support specialist with a focus on the urban and rural poor. He is currently mentor to both the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Entrepreneurship Development Programme and the Innovation Hub in Gauteng province, South Africa. He was a Senior Energy Specialist at the CSIR, ,Pretoria till April 2021 and won multiple performance awards from the CSIR.Prior to joining the CSIR he was Director at the Biomass Users Network in Zimbabwe where he oversaw the successful implementation of the NGO-mode of the GEF Solar Project, and the JICA (Japan) Study Project (solar home systems – ESCO model trial)Other professional roles:• Guest Editor.
