Hello! My name is Max, and I want to help you.I have over 10 years of experience in IT, and what excited me most has been finding new problems and diving headlong into them. Some of the most rewarding experiences I've had have been discovering a break or flaw in a system, learning about the flaw and getting a better understanding of the system in general, and then applying a fix or working with vendors to find a solution. I love learning new things and developing my technical skills. Over the last year and a half, I've pursued certifications and personal projects to develop my technical skills. Early last year I studied for and achieved the CompTIA Sec+ and Cisco CCNA certifications on the first attempt. While studying for the CCNA, I encountered the note taking tool Obsidian, and shared a subset of my notes at https://ccnadefinitions.com/. Additionally, I shared my experience studying for and passing the Sec+ exam on Reddit, and have mentored dozens of other students, answering technical questions and giving them advice. Since the exams, I've taken a range of less formal courses that dive into specific tools like Wireshark, and broader classes from Black Hills Information Security (BHIS).
