Maxwell Wright is a music industry specialist, a cultural promoter, and a Grammy awarded musician, raised in Spain and with both French and North American nationalities. After studying Dramatic Arts and Music at the BRIT School of Performing Arts in London, UK, and later Contemporary Theatre and Music at Dartington College of Arts in Devon, UK, Maxwell decided to pursue his professional career within the music industry in the city of Barcelona, Spain, where he became an integral part of several bands of national and international prestige. For over a decade, Maxwell toured the world on some of the most exciting festivals and legendary music venues (including the likes of Glastonbury, Sydney Opera House, The Barbican, New York Central Park, River Plate Stadium, North Sea Jazz Festival, Womad, Teatro Karl Marx, Roskilde, Lowlands, or the Rototom Festival, among many others) as a permanent member of the music group 'Ojos de Brujo', with whom he won several awards: a European BBC Award in 2004, a Premios de la música in 2005, twice the Premios Impala in 2006 and 2007, and a Latin Grammy in 2008, with another nomination in 2011. Maxwell recorded in studio sessions for acclaimed songwriter and composer Nitin Sawhney and bands such as 'Imam Baildi', '08001', or 'Nubla', to name a few. Other experience includes touring live with bands such as London's 'Asian Dub Foundation' or the Paris-Berlin duo, 'Okou', as well as directing many musical workshops and speaking at conferences across countries such as Germany, Brazil, France, The Netherlands, UK, Spain, and Bulgaria.In recent years, Max launched 'Royal Sonora', a platform dedicated to providing original musical content for advertising on TV, soundtracks in film, and artist curation for live events. Clients include Sony Playstation, WWF, El Pais, or Moto GP, among others. Max completed a Master in Music Business and Global Entertainment in 2014 at Berklee College of Music, in its international campus in Valencia, Spain, where he serves as Senior Career Advisor at the International Career Center, advising and preparing students to enter the professional music industry, as well as securing partnerships with companies for jobs and internships in the international arena. His thesis while a student at Berklee was to develop the TEDxBerkleeValencia conferences, being the co-founder and creative director for four consecutive editions, whilst combining his role as founder and director of the Formentera Jazz and the Menorca Groove Festivals, both still happening to date in the Balearic Islands, Spain.
