Biological Science Technician
As a Biological Science Technician at the United States Geological Survey I have assisted in monitoring of federally endangered small mammals and amphibians including the Pacific Pocket mouse (PPM) and Arroyo toad as well as other native/non-native aquatic species including fish, turtles, snakes, and invertebrates in rivers, streams, and creek systems across San Diego County including Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton (MCBCP) to determine occupancy, population density, and spatial distribution. In addition, I have worked on the removal of invasive species including Bullfrogs, African clawed-frogs, Crayfish, Carp, Sunfish, and other non-native aquatic species across San Diego County in cooperation with private landowners and other federal agencies. Finally, I participated in the deployment, maintenance, and image analysis of 50+ remote trail cameras along Highway CA-91, CA-71, and Prado Dam in cooperation with state and park agencies to determine the status of wildlife movement and utilization of wildlife corridors.
