I am a De Montfort University graduate with a first-class degree in Business Management BA (Hons) and I am currently working at Pell Frischmann as a Graduate Ecologist. I am now also a qualifying member of CIEEM.Since graduating, I've had a variety of jobs. I took on a role as a Stock Controller at The Box Factory as soon as I finished my degree which enabled me to learn a great deal about supply chain management and the processes involved. I then went onto work at Tyrolit as a Warehouse Operative where I further developed my knowledge in supply chain and the processes it takes before a product reaches customers. I then took a career change by becoming a Field Ecologist where the majority of my job consisted of completing wildlife surveys for a variety of different species which included newts, reptiles, dormice and bats and travelled across the country to do so. My Seasonal Field Ecologist job role then finished when the survey season was over in November so I worked part time as a warehouse operative at Laser Tools, whilst also volunteering at Warwickshire Wildlife trust.My current position is as a Graduate Ecologist working at Pell Frischmann after I got promoted from being a Seasonal Ecologist back in November. I started working at Pell Frischmann in March 2023, so will shortly be coming up to a year of employment. Whilst working with Pell Frischmann I have developed many skills and undertook a variety of different work tasks that were new to me, which has enabled me to enhance the range of skills and experience I now have as an Ecologist. I've undertook a variety of bat surveys whilst working on a big project that I have pretty much solely been focusing on since I started. I have undertook thermal imaging, crossing point and temporary flightline surveys and also deployed automatic static detectors. Whilst working on site locations I have gained a CSCS card and have experience driving welfare vans to get around site locations.As well as field work I have also gained experience working in the office by analysing bat footage, whether that be video or sound analysis using various software such as bat explorer and FLIR. I've also used other software such as BTO pipeline, so I have broadened my experience as an Ecologist.
