I gained various experiences while working in the Bloomberg Media Internship program. While directly working under the media communications team, I worked on numerous projects including traditional public relations, messaging, pitching, and research to bring together aspects of culture and business media. With the media communications team, I worked with Bloomberg Live Experiences in the communications planning, preparation, and implementation of several events including Bloomberg Green Festival, Screentime, and Power Players. During my time at Bloomberg, I connected with several adjacent departments including Brand Marketing, Audio & Visual, and Partnerships to gain a better understanding of the business and potential reach for further projects.

During this internship, I worked closely with the Marketing Department on various projects in different capacities. From long-form, strategic marketing to short term consumer based projects, the position required a variety of skills and critical thinking. I focused heavily on market competition research, media production, and content creation for recruiting and outreach. In addition to the Marketing Department, I aimed to expand my knowledge and work in different capacities with the Communications & Media, Brand Partnerships & Events, and Portfolio/Growth Marketing teams. By working on these different teams, I aimed to expand my knowledge within the department and test my ability for project load and management.

Create weekly press clippings for media produced for signed artists, do social/print media scans for coverage, and write coverage reports and press releases. Weekly activities included finding press contacts and pitching them when appropriate. I sat in on calls with the team discussing PR strategies for their current/past signed artists such as Trevor Jackson, BJ the Chicago Kid, and Eric Bellinger. During these calls and conversations I learned valuable lessons about the industry and fast-paced nature of music and entertainment as a whole. I also worked on personal, creative projects including sample press strategies for favorite artists. For example, creating sample events, social media plans, and PR strategies for artists to grow their fanbases and connect with new, untouched opportunities.
